Lake Garda

Hotel Gardasano is 3 star accommodation in a quiet spot a few miles from the lake. Hotel Mayer offers comfortable accommodation right on the lake in Desenzano with wonderful views across the water. Garda Village is a private holiday complex with a private beach onto the lake at Sirmione. Football
Most Italian clubs have good grass pitches and tours are available from September to June. Guest coaching is often possible (see Milan pages for specialist packages) and tickets for Serie ‘A’ matches can be reserved in season.

Hockey
You will be delighted with the facilities at the few hockey clubs that do exist within the region. Top venues include CUS Padova, hosts of European Championship hockey, and Villafranca di Verona. Friendly matches and training time can be organised within your programme.

Rugby
The progressive development of Italian rugby in recent years means good games can be organised at Calvisano, Treviso, Padova, Jesolo and Pordenone. A post match drink and pasta is a good way to unwind with your hosts.

Other sports & leisure activities
Although netball is not played in Italy, court time for your own training can be arranged. Basketball is both popular and competitive in Italy, while the outdoor Olympic pool in
Desenzano is perfect for swimming clubs looking for training.

Excursion Possibilities
For an excursion day, try Gardaland theme park; the sights of Venice or stadium tour in Milan. By night, ten pin bowling can be reserved and there are plenty of games, karting and arcades at the Benacus amusement centre.
